About

Working in our local communities to better the lives of children and youth in need. This is the mission of the Jefferson’s Foundation.

The Jefferson’s Foundation was established in order to help and support those most vulnerable individuals living within our communities: our children. In Kansas, 24 percent of children under the age of 18 live in low income working families. The foundation is committed to reaching all children, who are less fortunate and living within our communities by offering them the support when needed. Through this support, we hope to ensure these children receive the physical and financial needs to encourage a stable and healthy environment to grow and develop.

According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s report, families in high-poverty neighborhoods — census tracts where poverty rates for the total population are 30% or more — face more health challenges, higher crime rates, sub-par schools and limited access to support networks and jobs. The foundation also notes that in 2022 child poverty more than doubled in the United States. Nine million children nationwide do not have the resources for basic needs such as food, housing, and utilities.

We want to ensure that all children have the support they need to become successful adults. From baby beds to school supplies and from basic day-to-day necessities to medical needs, The Jefferson’s Foundation will help in an expedited manner.

We are currently raising funds by hosting our annual golf tournament at the Lawrence Country Club Golf Course on May 17, 2024. This year there will be two shotgun times of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. We will also be hosting our annual Topeka golf tournament at Cypress Ridge on September 27, 2024. This event will have a tee time at 9:00 a.m. Sponsorship opportunities are available for both tournaments.

We will also be hosting our annual car show on October 5, 2024. The show will be held at the Rev City Church located at 700 Wakarusa Dr.  Partnership opportunities are available for the car show. These range from $100.00 to $500.00. The cost of showing a car/motorcycle is $15.00 if registered before August 30th, or $20.00 the day of the event. If you are interested in participating or becoming a partner for the car show, please call 913-220-9865.

All proceeds from both events will go to help children in need.
